AgLink – a collection of 16 independent family-owned Australian agricultural businesses – today announced that it has agreed in principle to develop a commercial and strategic alliance with a group of 12 independent Canadian agricultural retailers.
The Canadian retailers – based in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta – collectively have sales of more than CAD$1 billion. They have indicated they wish to replicate the AgLink business model that has been successfully developed in Australia over 30 years.
AgLink has agreed to help the Canadians build the business, and key commercial terms have been agreed. The proposed alliance will be subject to due diligence and preceded by a detailed business plan.
